Membership in the York County SPCA has a special meaning. Of all the ways you can contribute to the work done by this organization, please make membership your first consideration. Membership gives a person certain benefits along with the opportunity to attend the YCSPCA’s Annual Meeting held in March each year, vote on By-Law changes and elect candidates to the YCSPCA’s Board of Directors. Membership in the YCSPCA is an opportunity afforded annually and which must be renewed annually. Membership is recognized on a calendar year basis. Contributions for membership made after November 1st are applied to the following calendar year…..so please renew now!
Membership program We have three levels of membership, each with certain benefits. Supporting business partners will extend a discount to our Rescuer and Hero members. We may add additional supporting businesses throughout the year so check the web site to see the current list of discount opportunities. Please consider, when you make your membership contribution, that the average cost per animal that we receive at our shelter is $240. Municipal fees cover a small percentage of our costs. We need to keep our adoption and neutering fees low because we do not want cost to be a barrier to adoption. So that leaves the bulk of our needed revenue dependent on your membership and our other community supported fundraising activities.
